Hi ECO Team,
Could you please give some info about Linq2Eco support?
For example, are these features supported already:?
Aggregates
Strings (StartsWith, Contains, EndsWith, Subsstrings etc)
Dates
Booleans
Custom functions
Method calls
GropBy
OrderBy
Enums
Arrays
Paging
Projectinos
Counts
etc
Thanks,
Dmitriy.

Hi,
I would also like to know if LINQ is going to be in memory only (like Ocl) or will you try to translate it to SQL (like OclPs).
Also, the EcoDataSource component will be compatible with LINQ?
Thanks.

May be I am wrong but MS is going to forget(or rebuild?) about LINQ...
They are busy with Entity Framework and with adopting (rebuilding?) linq to this entity framework.
The new revolution is coming. As usual.
Regards,
Alex
P.S. OCL forever!

No. That's not correct.
MS dropped Linq2Sql Framework and evolves Entity Framework. Linq2Sql is a bit obsolete with EF.
There's nothing to do with Linq as a technology because of Language Integrated Query just adds native data querying capabilities to .NET languages.
It can query generally anything, but often used for querying DBs (Linq2Sql, EF, linq2NH etc).
Cheers,
Dmitriy.

Per (2008-12-16)
The ECO team is very quiet about LINQ, or do they have something up their sleeves ? Or am I just missing something Per In honesty I don't know the answer to this because I haven't asked in a while, I've been really busy writing ECO 4 apps. Plans have been mentioned to support LINQ in ECO, the silence must at least mean it's not ready

As with anything new from the ECO team; we see it when it's ready - and it must be on the todo list, right Per
